The materials exposed on this paper, displayed according to a lexicographical format (biographies of the composers, a brief valuation of their productions, inventories of their preserved compositions, and bibliographies), cannot pretend to finish a comprehensive work about the mentioned composers, but just to provide a context for them and their time, looking at the musical environment where they developed their activities, in order to help to get a better understanding of their musical compositions and the meaning they involve. Biographies for each composer are derived from a previous redaction –now enlarged, modified and newly revised–, originally intended to be included in the Diccionario de la Música Española e Hispanoamericana of the SGAE. The results, comes from a synthetic work developed through many years in the musical archives of the two cathedrals (“El Pilar” and “La Seo”) in Saragosse, or other ecclesiastical archives in Spain. Some of the included chapters have been modified and updated specially for this occasion.
