Starting from the theoretical works of Juan Bermudo Declaración de Instrumentos musicales (1555) and Tomás de Santa María Libro llamado Arte de tañer Fantasía (1565), we can appreciate the fingering evolution in the keyboard instruments. The influence of the iberian sources from the sixteenth century spreads to the late eighteenth century theorists C. Ph. E. Bach and Wilhelm Marpurg.
