While there are some quotations about José Nonó related with the foundation of the “Conservatorio de Música” of Madrid in 1816, most data concerning this musician and the institution are still unknown. This paper provides a description of the Conservatory and its work along two periods of time: 1816-1822 and 1829-1832, and adds a short biographic profile and catalog of his musical works.
